Day 159: Back to the Trail; Janus Lake

There was no time for sleeping in this morning as we had to catch an 8:50am bus to Stevens Pass. We took turns taking quick showers and then headed down for breakfast at the bistro in the lobby. After breakfast we had about 6 blocks to walk down to the train/bus station. We got our tickets at 8:30am and waited for our bus to arrive. At 8:45am the bus pulled up and we loaded our gear in the holds and our butts in the seats.

It took just over 2.5 hours to get from Seattle to Stevens Pass; we arrived at 11:30am. We hauled our packs into the lodge and had lunch. We hung around until about 1:30pm and then it was back to trail life. Janus Lake was about 10 miles north on the trail so we set that as our goal for the day. We arrived around 5pm and got our tents up just before the rain came in. From this camp spot we are 98 miles from Stehekin to fill in the fire closure gap.

Godspeed.
