Day 79: Granite Chief

From our camp we had 22.5 to go to our next camp spot. So today was going to be a long day. The first half of the day went smooth and easy and we got to Barker Pass trailhead by lunch, which was a good thing too because Legend was there helping out his buddies Half Slow and Senior Whiskers. We got fresh sandwiches with turkey, cheese, veggies and the works! It was a wonderful surprise!

From there we travelled on to our camp at Five Lakes Creek. In between we followed this awesome ridgeline where we were able to see Lake Tahoe on our east and these vast sprawling valleys on our west. It was insanely windy but worth it for the views. We did that for maybe 2 miles and then dropped down to our camp by the creek.

Full disclosure, I was so tired I wrote this he next day so it’s very short. Apologies.

Godspeed.
