We had 11 miles to go to reach Reds Meadow and it was a breezy 11. By that I mean it went by in a breeze. It was some of the nicest, smoothest, no rocks, downhill trail we have had all trip. We knocked it out from 7am to 11am, which is a great pace for 11 for us.
Upon arrival at Reds Meadow we immediately hit the cafe and devoured some burgers and a slice of pie each. Pie had apple and I got cherry, cause ‘duh’ for both of us. After that we got our room for the night and dropped out stuff off just before getting a ride up to Mammoth from a super nice guy named Paul that was eating at the cafe near us. He was heading back home to Reno after finishing some work in the area and we were lucky to be there when he was headed up to town.
Once in town we hit the mountaineering shop for a couple odds and ends and then sent some unnecessary gear back home from the post office. With all of our errands done for the day we headed over to Mammoth Brewing Company for a beer and to figure out how to get back down to Reds Meadow.
