Day 17: Dayhike to Highway 18

So today was a bit of a breeze for Cindy and I. Mel dropped us off back at mile 250. We saw the animals in the cages right at this mile. There was a mountain lion, a couple of grizzly bears and an African lion from what we saw. Pretty sad to see them locked up in such small cages, despite the face they could and would literally devour me. We continued down the trail at a pretty good pace for the day. We got a late start (right around 9:30am) because we picked up my reapply box at the Big Bear Lake post office and then Cindy’s new shoe shipment at the Big Bear City post office. All in all, we completed our 16 mile dayhike (we only carried water and some snacks since we had Mel cruising around) at 4pm.

We saw this sign on the trail today, not really sure what it meant...

...so we tried to replicate it best we could, I think we nailed it!
